Extending a Treehouse with Reused Materials
The project of building a treehouse from upcycled materials in Colonia San Pere on Mallorca started as an extension of an existing structure. Instead of tearing everything down, the idea was simple: build it bigger, make it stronger, and turn it into a solid treehouse using upcycled materials.
I don’t like wasting good materials. If something can be reused, I prefer to fix it and give it a new purpose. That’s also what Hugo Will Fix It stands for. For this project, materials from earlier builds were reused in a creative way to make something new and strong.
We added one extra level and built a staircase to reach the top. A new roof was made and properly connected to the old structure. Everything had to fit well together, not only to look good, but also to be safe and strong.
Because it’s a treehouse, strength is important. The full construction was reinforced where needed. By reusing materials and building it the right way, the result is a sturdy and practical space that can be enjoyed for many years.
Got a project in mind?
If you have an idea and like the thought of reusing materials instead of throwing them away, feel free to get in touch. I’m happy to help fix, build, and create something solid.
